The All Who Dwell in my Heart quilt is totally done and on the wall…doesn’t hang perfectly flat but hey after 3 years of hand paper piecing what does one expect! 20 heart blocks hand stitched, hand embroidered than ribbons added by machine…whew…it’s machine quilted in the ditch between the blocks…haven’t quite decided if I want to tackle hand quilting each heart yet…the back is a fabulous lavender paisley with orange and retina burning color combinations…edged in white with tiny buttons…kinda garish once it was complete but I’m not one to just tear something apart because it’s garish…that and I hate ripping out seams! Finally on the wall October 6th 2013

Attached the ultra teeny diaper to the good works block and added some super cutie patootie ribbons…bummer couldn’t locate ribbon with socks or better yet sock monkeys on it…oh well…this works pretty good. Hand embroidered ‘good works’ on this cotton and flannel heart. This heart is for God’s Tiny Angels, Operation Sock Monkey, Hands for Haiti, Clowns without borders and Teeny Tears! Pattern: ‘crazy hearts’ http://www.paperpanache.com/guests/aheart.htm Completed July 26th 2013
The very last block, number 20, for the quilt All Who Dwell in my Heart…there are pieces of antique lace and some of my favorite light colored fabrics in this block. All who dwell in my heart quilt top is complete…and I only need to tear off one ribbon that I inadvertently melted when I was ironing the top…still can’t figure out how I managed to iron on the fusible batting to that block without melting the ribbon in the first place…nonetheless it is as fabulous as I always thought it would be! It’s taken me a wee bit over 3 years to complete this eye scalding quilt of love and happiness. Once totally done it will live on the wall right next to Jim’s Tumor Start Quilt. Life adventures in warm lovie form. When complete it will be approximately 36 inches by 45 inches. I figure I’ll machine quilt it for longevity, haven’t decided on the backing yet, but I have quite the assortment of slabs of fabric to contemplate. I’ve been contemplating a quilt…YEAH…I’m shocked too! well in my search for house paper pieced block patterns I’ve found an assortment of regulation houses, a couple castles, a tent, a few bird houses and a couple dog houses all of which have been printed for when I can start this next pile of silliness…bummer is there were NO mobile home patterns…I saw an RV patterns for sale…but an RV isn’t a house trailer…SO here’s my attempt…note: yeah house trailers are a bit boxy
Mobile Home Trailer paper pieced quilt block…
Cut apart sections: a, b, c, & d…
// = sew these pieces together separately before adding them to the foundation
Ad ¼ inch to each section. Sew sections: a+b+c+d. Completed block should be 8X6
Finished. Oh the gray thing on top is the satellite dish…and this trailer has no skirting.
I threw this together on WORD, print screened it into a photo editor and wa la…we shall see if it works!
Jazmin’s heart WIP (Work in progress). Purple and black are Jazmin’s colors…Purple was the color I tried to dress Jaz in…Tab’s was Pink, Nat’s was lavender and light teal…so Jazmin’s was purple, super girlie. The shade has gotten darker over the years. The skull fabric for the heart is from a quilt started by Jaz (I’ll finish it some day) Dark and spooky is the route taken with this block, found some fun ribbon and did a nice vine stitch with the machine. Her name will be embroidered in black. September 9th 2010
Rainbow witcht two (Orange & Yellow) for my rainbow coalition witchy block…this is Block # 89 from the book 300 paper pieced blocks by Carol Doak. This block is 5.25 square. All hand pieced. It will be joined by 3 others: Red & Purple, Green & Blue and Black & Pink. I’ve some wacky rainbow fabric to sash the block with. She’ll get a face when the whole block is done. This, of course, will be a part of my Witch Bonnet Sue quilt. May 13th 2010

Challenge block made for the yahoo group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CarolDoakQuiltingGroup/
The winner of this challenge get 10 yard of fabric (I think, perhaps its 15 yards, can’t locate the email that started the challenge) think of all the baby lovies I could make with that!
I used fabric from the Beatles collection, some leap frog greens, white on white from the quilt shop in Waconia…tried to have a fun assortment…course as soon as I posted my block I was checking out what other ladies have made…mine will be lost in the shuffle…Oh well, I plan on sashing it in more white on white and adding it to my SWGWSW swap quilt…
Finished block = 6 inches square
Completed April 13th 2010
Hippy postcard witch block…
Her face says she’s a bit touched or just finished watching an America’s Funniest Home Video marathon… the pattern started out being 6 inches by 4 inches…too tiny for the block I wanted so I blew her up to a little less than 8.5 X 11…now she’s finished and the block is 12.5 X 12.5 . Think she’ll blend quite nicely with the batch of witch bonnet sues. This quilt may end up being quite sizeable…can’t wait to start assembling it!
Oh, this pattern is from: http://www.quiltconcepts.com/quilt/patterns/free she’s the Hippy Witch towards the bottom of the page.
