I’m all ready for the next 2 baby showers as long as we know one’s a girl and the other’s a boy…Sooooo if you invite me…please check on that one little detail so I bring the correct shade of gift. Each set has matching bibs (3), burp cloths (3) receiving blanket (1) and owl/cat rattle/tag toy. Wicked cuteness! These were completed March 16th 2014
Made 2 piles of Teeny Tears diapers size large – up to 32 week gestation sized. Will be adding matching caps to each set. No idea where these will be going yet so they will be residing with the rest waiting for a hospital to adopt. March 17th 2014
Made a pile of girlie angel pockets for angels too tiny and fragile to dress…then I moved onto the boy pile and promptly sewed it together wrong…well Olivia has a lovey for this rather unattractive doll to live in now…I put the boy pile together correctly before I’m even going to get near the sewing machine! March 17th 2014
Owl/Cat Rattle/Tag toys…and 3 pointing the way squeaker/tag toys. The owl/cats will be joining matching bibs/burp cloths/receiving blankets…the pointer toys will be going where ever they can. March 16th 2014
Slightly crooked, on purpose, bunny wall-hanging for work for the next holiday… pretty adequate if I do say so myself… March 18th 2014
I’m dreaming of a glowing flamingo Christmas…well OK doesn’t really roll off the tongue like the song…but he is fabulously tacky!
The ever elusive Keek the upstairs cat Shamus hears but can never really see…
The stockings were hung and filled to capacity by the stairway with care…course I’m sure everyone has been peeking into theirs as they walk by…
This year’s wicked cool Christmas tree…can’t quite see the wee purple lights for all the dangly deals…note the 2 gifts that still say Amazon on them…Jim couldn’t wrap them while I was in the room…I may just open those one’s 1st!
Sunset 7 days and counting to the great Christmas Chaos…
Oliver sewed a bed out of felt…he’s now working on making a Jack Skellington to sleep in it.
Try as we might, getting Shamus to be a happy Christmas boy just didn’t work out…
Sitting up waiting to leap from the chair
Noticing that the antlers are too heavy for his neck
Looking at Oliver pleading for an escape
Forlorn…poor baby giving up
Oliver can dress like a puppy for Christmas just fine!
Jazmin’s Cacti & Succulent bowl…blooming!
I really shouldn’t go to a pet type shop when I’m feeling guilty for not saving every unhappy animal on the planet…specially that huge snapping turtle some poop ran over on highway 12 (Karma baby…perhaps you’ll get squished by a redneck someday) but I digress, this is Green Wilma, she’s about 8 months old and suffering from calcium deficiency…I adopted her as her previous owner gave her to Petco…poor baby…named her after the cool frog in the book Green Wilma that the girls and Olie like…got her home and she ate her vitamin covered crickets, had a nice long drink of water and gave Shamus McSuchy-Myhre the stink eye every time he moved…Other than her one floppy back leg and what looks like a broken finger she gets around quite nicely! I’m getting her a full spectrum light and on nice days will take her outside for some real sun…

Diaper flannel…shopping with Olivia is interesting as long as there is a baby for her to oooh over…other wise she needs to pat all the flannel, right out of the cart… Used up all the large diaper flannel cut-outs so I just MUST have more flannel…but upon getting home I see I have 3 boy flannels and one 1 girl…sigh…Walmart here I come! Out of these flannels I’m only cutting out large diapers as I have quite the stack of smalls left to sew…any left overs I’ll make into patchwork lovies to send to the wee babies in need! August 8th 2013
Lovie Flannel…the wintery holidays are a coming…they are! And these cute winter flannels were even on sale…I think both the reindeer on green and the penguins on blue scream unisexed…backed with a solid color I hope they will still work for both newborn girls and boys this holiday season…the sweet cream with girlie stuff I was going to use for teeny diapers but the more I looked at it the more I thought that is would make me even more unhappy if my stillborn had a diaper on with everything I would be missing out on, on it…so I have enough to make a couple newborn receiving lovies out of it instead. Adventures in sizing
I reduced the small Teeny diaper pattern in Picasa making it fit into a 5X7 frame, just to see if I could in fact make an even teenier diaper perhaps for a pendant or a wee broach for a grandma or Auntie of an angel…so incredibly wee…these haven’t had the top stitching done yet but already you can see the dramatic size difference with the tape measure. Holding the teeniest in your hand really shows it…it fits my thumb. Oliver pointed out that he could use another one; I let him know the next single I make is for him. Think I’ll invest in some pin backs for these super teenies and send one with each set I have so all three match. The organization is Teeny Tearshttp://teenytears.blogspot.com/ the patterns can be found here also. December 19th 2012
Happy 8th birthday Oliver!
more flannel for teeny tears diapers…all ironed now and I already cut up the vibrant rainbow and white with dots…1/2 yard made 8 large sets (16 diapers) and 3 tiny sets (6 diapers). I have wonderfully fat piles of diapers to sew now! all of this was found at Walmart…yeah probably not the most hearty of flannels…fabrics on the left are 1/2 yards and the great mostly boyish flannels on the right are fat quarters…Olie picked out the colors and Olivia snuggles the fat quarters as we kept shopping…the fat quarters were in rolls and tied in ribbon so there were no stickers for her to remove 🙂
The patterns for the diapers can be found at http://teenytears.blogspot.com/
These when completed will find their way to God’s Tiny Angels in West Virginia and I hope a couple hospitals here in MN too…>tears/p>

Sprawled in the pile of toys…Olivia loves her big brother! October 24th 2012
Operation Sock Monkey http://www.operationsockmonkey.com/ box (#3) ready to squish shut, whew took muscles I didn’t think I had to get this shut…and Olivia kept trying to help the Oonies on top escape, finally after much squishing and squashing and almost taping Shamus and Olivia to the box I got it closed…16 beasts of leg wear origin smashed unceremoniously into a not quite big enough box…hope the USPS doesn’t mind kinda round boxes rolling around on their trucks! September 4th 2012
Olivia future postal carrier rearranging the boxes around the living room most of the evening…perhaps she’ll aim for UPS I think she’d look nifty in brown! September 4th 2012
Olivia sharing her teeth…all four of them…finally Liv has found her inner cheesiness! September 4th 2012
Olivia with a side of ham…quite the nostril shot…look no pureed peas/pears/beans/spinach! September 4th 2012
Impromptu mushroom house
…1st house for the Tiny Houses pink and purple houses quilt… this pattern is found at:http://artisania.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/mushroom-house-quilt-b… FREE! What’s wicked cool about this quilt is many of the patterns are free on the internet! I’ll note which pattern is from where as I get the blocks accomplished…mind you this is a long range, VERY long range adventure…who knows how long it will take me to get all the blocks made by hand then made into a monster quilt! This block is 8.5 X 8.5 inches square…the messed up on the window by using another pink rather than blue…sigh…oh well…since I’ll be embroidering the door knob I will probably embroider around the window in a contrast color to make it pop a bit more. Completed in lieu of sleep on August 28th 2012
Jaz did some photography of our more fabulously colored flowers
