Tangling during the constant rain

Rosalita J Stonefish ZIA…

Rockfish ZIA 6-15-14

J for Juniper…her parents were hippies and had already used Clouds, Happiness and Rainbow for their other spawn… I am so in love with this one… I thinks it’s her colors and skinny liver lips. She was created on 11X14 Paris paper using Faber Castell Pitt & Pigma Micron pens followed by Sakura Moonlight gel, Atyou Spica glitter and Staedtler Triplus for the chaotic color. There are moments of gel pens, glitter pens and assorted other gooey deals that pooped in such a way that some designs changed dramatically after adding color… but her unblinking eye and sharp teeth still get the point across. Started her a few days back and finished her June 15th 2014

Plastic giggleetude 6-15-14

My shelf of eccentric plastic doogies and assorted other old stuff none of which actually goes together but is wicked fabulous none the less. June 15th 2014

Heat Wave stitching & Tidying

2 wee paper pieced trees

from the book: 300 paper pieced blocks by Carol Doak http://www.caroldoak.com …I’m going to sew a view for my cubicle at work…I have a space approximately 24 inches square to work with…I figure a few trees and a cool house all in batiks will be perfect! Each is about 4 inches square

The stitching on the back of one of the trees from the book: 300 paper pieced blocks by Carol Doakhttp://www.caroldoak.com …yeah I do them by hand…that’s how I roll…block is about 4 inches square I like looking at the backs…all the work shows…eventually all that work is mashed in the inside though and only another quilter would look at the quilt and see the work…July 22nd 2012

I’ve gotten a little OCD on my fabric stash…no done yet I’ve 2 massive bins to still go through and tidy…I can then use those bins for fleece and batting chunks so everything will have a place and that place will be dust free! July 22nd 2012

My sewing corner…yup there’s three sewing machines…I can usually have 2 going at the same time if I’m feeling really industrious…I use those hangers you get at Target and Wally when you buy skirts or kids shorts for block storage…no wrinkles and they’re in my face so I always know I have something I could be doing…I know it screams HOARDERS…but really…nary a flat cat or year old watermelon was found, dust on the other hand…whew!  July 22nd2012

Super yummy smelling rose from Jazmin’s rose bush…even after 4 days this still smelled fabulous! July 22nd 2012

B-Day Quilting and raindrops on poppies

Batik House quilt top complete

Jim made me a Plexiglas template of a house shape a few years ago…I traced it onto many a fun fabric and cut out piles of houses…they sat in a box untouched but not forgotten for 2 years…the lovely sky fabric I got from Kris for X-mas…the pastel rainbow is left overs from Emma & Ella’s quilt tops…the really neat green batiks are from a fat quarter set from Keepsake Quilting… all in all a lovely baby quilt top… about 45 inches square with prairie points…no idea where this quilt is going yet… 6-19-11

Oliver’s massive pink poppy opened during a deluge of rain so I ran out with an umbrella to capture it in case it was totally trashed by the rain so Olie could see it when it was pretty… 6-18-11

Tabitha’s toilet tank topper…her bathroom is in shades of green, orange and frogs…

33 inches by about 16 inches…backed with bright lizard fabric and machine quilted. 6-20-11
